Choosing To Use Two Way Satellite Radios When Cell Phones Are Available

by Sherry Hart

While many people carry a cell phone, making communication simple, there are still a number of reasons to use a two-way radio system instead of a number of cell phones. Whether you are running a big event or you are in the manufacturing industry, the ability to communicate on demand can make a big difference. While cell phones will get the job done, satellite two-way radios are more cost-effective and reliable, and they make it easy to communicate with a number of people at the same time.

Using a Satellite Two-Way Radio System is Less Expensive

Consider the cost of providing every staff member at an event with a cell phone, and then think about how much it would cost to give everyone a two-way radio to use instead. Cell phones get expensive and tend to be more expensive than a simple two-way radio. In addition, cell phones, especially the screens, are easier to break. To provide a communication system for a number of staff at an event, you'll be able to outfit everyone with a two-way radio for less money than if you choose cell phones.

Reception Doesn't Rely on Phone Networks

Cell phone service can get sketchy in certain areas, but two-way radios offer reception at all times. If your event is in an area with poor cell phone reception, you'll still be able to communicate with all of your employees without having to rely on cell phones. Radio frequencies work well when you don't have cell phone service available.

You Can Have Any Number of People On the Network

Instead of having to dial the phone to reach one of your employees, you will simply talk into the radio and request the individual responds to your call. When you have a large number of people who are in constant contact with one another throughout the day, it's easier to use a two-way radio system. Consider that if there is an emergency, anyone that is close to you will be able to respond right away. This can save you valuable time when you are running an event and you need help right away.

While cell phones can be used for private communication between two parties, when you have a large group that needs to be in constant communication, two-way radio systems are more effective. You'll be able to save money, and communicate even when there isn't any cell phone service available.
